Cheers to you!

Hi I’m Kelly, a mix of wanderer and control freak, an interesting combination for someone who is passionate about packing her bags last minute and hitting the road. I’m a recovering political fundraiser and have spent the last 9 months pursuing my encore career in coaching to help win find a more fulfilling life.

In July 2015, I launched Fantasy Aisle to share my stories of solo travel with more people than my parents. Travel is all about the senses and exposing oneself to the new, to the unknown.  I travel to learn, to seek adventure, to see, to feel and to taste my way through unfamiliar cities and countrysides and to discover the heart and soul of a place through this exploration.

It’s true most people prefer to travel with friends, family or even tour groups but for me solo travel is an opportunity to get out of my mind and into my heart. It gives me a place where I can form my own opinions and capture experiences through my own Type A perspective.

I thought by now I would be married with children but I traded in that life for a loaded passport and incredible memories.  Travel has taught me walking down the aisle of the airplane is just as fulfilling as the that other aisle.

Based in New York City, I hail from the Windy City (Chicago). I consider myself to be a woman of the world with my carry-on suitcase as my companion. I am a devoted Michigan State Spartan and Chicago Cubs fan even though it’s hard sometimes.

If you’re a brand or travel company interested in working with me, feel free to contact me!  I will be writing about travel, soul searching, job exploration and life as a solo traveler.

Favorite Quote:

Not all those who wander are lost

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.
